A field day and awareness program was organized on February 14, 2025, at Raghunathpur village in Khandapada block, Nayagarh district. Around 150 farmers, including 47 women from Raghunathpur, Sajanapada, Gunthuni, and Analamada villages, participated in the event. During the program, farmers were educated on the significance of groundwater in agriculture, water conservation techniques, and various methods for constructing groundwater recharge structures. The objectives of the RKVY project and its progress in Nayagarh and Khandapada blocks were also discussed. Additionally, they were informed about the construction of recharge structures in defunct dug wells in their villages and the benefits of micro-irrigation systems for improving water productivity. As part of the initiative, participants received kitchen kits containing vegetable seeds to promote backyard farming.
